Melaugh Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week for Second Straight Week

SOUTH EASTON, MA – Merrimack men's lacrosse junior Greg Melaugh (Billerica, Mass.) has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league offices on Monday. Melaugh receives the award for the second straight week.

Melaugh has been named Player of the Week on two occasions this season while Corey Lunney (Little Silver, NJ) has received that honor once.

Melaugh continued his outstanding play on Saturday against the Assumption Greyhounds as he racked up a career-high seven goals and added two assists in the Warriors 20-5 victory. The seven goal performance is the second seven goal performance of the season for the Warriors as Terence Barclay (Babylon, NY) scored seven goals against Dominican (N.Y.) in the season opener.

Melaugh recorded all nine points in the first three periods of action against the Greyhounds as he did not see action in the fourth. The Billerica, Mass. native has racked up 38 goals, which is good for second in the conference, and 51 total points in only 11 games. His 3.45 goals and 4.64 points per contest rank's him first in the country.

The Warriors return to the field on Friday, May 4 at 4:00 p.m. as they will play host to the winner of the Bentley/Adelphi quarterfinal game.
