Merrimack and Andover TV Team Up to Televise Basketball, Hockey Home Games
NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Merrimack College Athletic
Department has teamed up with Andover Television to air virtually
all of the remaining home basketball and hockey games on tape delay
in the greater Andover area.
Merrimack Athletics will have six hours per week to re-air its
games on Andover Television. Games will re-air every Tuesday from
7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and
every Saturday from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Coverage begins on Tuesday, January 19 when the men’s
basketball game from Saturday, January 16 against Adelphi will air
at 7:30 p.m. The women’s game from January 16 will be
televised on Thursday, January 21 at 11 a.m.
Hockey’s next home, slated for January 23 against
Providence, will air on Tuesday, January 26 at 7:30 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase our athletic
programs on television in the local area,” said Director of
Athletics Glenn Hofmann. “We hope this will
show the surrounding neighborhoods how successful and exciting our
basketball and hockey programs are this year, and hopefully, we
will generate greater interest and fan involvement from our local
residents. This is an excellent partnership with Andover TV and one
that is unique to Merrimack within the Northeast-10 and Hockey
East.”
Reaching over 12,000 households in Andover alone, Andover TV
appears on Comcast on channel 8 in Andover and on Verizon Fios on
channel 47 in Andover, North Andover, Methuen, Lawrence, and
Wilmington.
