Brodhag Named Pro Ambitions Co-Rookie of the Week

Get your Warrior hockey gear

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Forward Brandon Brodhag (Brooklyn Park, MN) was named the Pro Ambitions Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Brodhag becomes the third Warrior to earn a weekly honor in as many weeks, as Stephane Da Costa (Paris, France) was the conference’s Player of the Week on October 19, while Karl Stollery (Camrose, AB) was the Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on October 26.

Brodhag tallied his first career goal and assist on Friday in a 4-3 loss to #12 Boston College. He followed up that performance with the game-winning goal and an assist in Merrimack’s 5-3 win over the Eagles on Sunday. The line of Brodhag, Da Costa and Jeff Velleca (Waterbury, CT) combined for 11 points in the two-game set with Boston College.

Merrimack (5-3, 2-1), who is 5-0 at home for the first time since joining Hockey East, defeated Boston College for the first time in 21 meetings, dating back to 2003.

The Warriors are idle this week before taking on the defending National Champion Boston University in a home-and-home series beginning Friday November 13 at Lawler Arena.
