NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After leading the Merrimack field hockey team on the offensive side of the field during its three-win week, senior midfielder Jen Otis (Penacook, N.H.) has earned Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week honors, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors posted an undefeated, 3-0 week to improve to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in league play. The seven-day stretch started with a thrilling overtime victory at home against rival Bentley last Tuesday, with Otis assisting on the game-winning tally.
Two days, later, she scored once more in the Warriors' 8-1 thrashing at Franklin Pierce, and finally, on Columbus Day, the Penacook, N.H., native led the Warriors with two goals in Merrimack's 5-0 blanking of Stonehill College.
In total, Otis posted 10 points (4g, 2a) over the course of three games while also reeling off 12 shot attempts with five on target. On the season, the senior and reigning First Team All-American ranks third in the squad in scoring with 27 points (10g, 7a) and has started in all 13 of Merrimack's contests.
The Warriors return to action this week with two more conference matches, starting with a Wednesday (Oct. 10) afternoon affair at Saint Michael's before returning home to face AIC on Saturday, Oct. 13.
