Otis Captures Field Hockey Freshman of the Week

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – For the third time this season, freshman Jen Otis (Penacook, NH) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week for her hat trick performance in a 7-2 win at Assumption College.

With the three-goal effort (all of which came in the first half), Otis helped Merrimack to a single-game record seven goals against the Greyhounds on Friday.

Converting on all three shots she attempted, Otis becomes the third Warrior this season to tally double-digit goals along with classmate April Daugherty (Lincoln, RI) and senior captain Jaclyn Germano (Westwood, MA), who have ten and twelve, respectively.

With 30 points on the season, Otis is tied for fourth in the Northeast-10 and second only to Daugherty among freshmen.

Otis and the Warriors will look to improve their standing in the playoff hunt (currently 5th) on Tuesday (4:00pm) against Saint Michael’s College at Warrior Field.
