Football Unveils 2012 Schedule; Spring Game Set for April 28

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Head Coach John Perry announced the 2012 Merrimack football schedule which is highlighted by five home games, including the home opener against division III Rowan University on September 8 at 1 p.m.

In Perry's fifth season, the Warriors will open up the season on the road against defending Northeast-10 Champion New Haven on September 1 at 1 p.m.

The Warriors will host four Northeast-10 Conference games, highlighted by a week three showdown with American International on September 15 at 1 p.m., and a matchup with Southern Connecticut State the next weekend on September 22 at 1 p.m.

Merrimack will be on the road for three more conference games including Pace on September 29 at 1 p.m. and Stonehill on October 13 at 12 p.m. The Warriors final road game of the regular season will come on October 27 at 1 p.m. as they will take on conference rival Bentley.

The Warriors final two home games of the regular season will be on October 20 at 1 p.m. against Saint Anselm and November 3 at 1 p.m., as part of senior day and Homecoming weekend.

Merrimack is in the midst of spring practice and will host its annual Spring Game on April 28 at 2 p.m. at Martone-Mejail Field.

Merrimack finished 6-4 (5-3 NE-10) in 2011, led by first team All-Conference members Isaiah Voegeli (Hyannis, Mass.), Zach Gilbert (Salem, Mass.) and Artis Holt (Baltimore, Md.), all of which are seniors for the 2012 season.
