James Suozzo Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – James Suozzo (Everett, MA) was named the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.

Suozzo, who also won a Gold Helmet after a victory over Stonehill, rushed for three touchdowns while throwing for another two, as the Merrimack football team cruised to a 48-20 victory over New Haven on Homecoming Weekend at Warrior Field.

He finished with 290 total yards, 81 rushing and 209 passing, completing 13-of-27 passes. He continues to lead the conference in total yards, rushing touchdowns, and rushing yards by a quarterback. He is third in rushing yards among all players and second in touchdowns.

Merrimack (5-2, 4-1 NE-10) visits AIC on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Northeast-10 “PackCast” Game of the Week.
