Andrew Jackson Named Second Team All-Region by Daktronics

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – Preseason All-American Andrew Jackson (New Britain, CT) continues to reap in the postseason awards as he was named to the Division II All-Super Regional 1 Football Team by Daktronics.

Jackson, a first-team Northeast-10 selection and All-New England selection as a return specialist and defensive back, returned two punts and one kickoff for touchdowns this season. He totaled five interceptions, second on the team, and was the NE-10 Defensive Player of the Week after getting two picks against Bryant. A Preseason All-American and a four-time all-conference selection, he made six catches as a wide out and also rushed for a 39-yard touchdown against American International. Jackson is the only player named to two positions on the team.

Jackson is the lone Merrimack player on the squad and just one of five Northeast-10 players.

Edinboro’s Trevor Harris earned Offensive Player of the Year honors, while West Liberty State’s Darren Banks was the Defensive Player of the Year.
