NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Guided by a three-RBI day from freshman Cam DiSarcina (Shirley, Mass.) and solid relief pitching from senior Tyler Cuming (Red Bank, N.J.), the Merrimack College baseball team captured a dramatic walk-off win over Assumption College Tuesday afternoon in the series finale at the Warrior Baseball Diamond on Senior Day.

Records: Merrimack (20-18, 8-9 NE-10) | Assumption (16-19, 8-10 NE Division)
Location: Warrior Baseball Diamond | North Andover, Mass.
How It Happened
DiSarcina paced Merrimack offensively with a 2-of-5 effort at the plate, including the game winning run in the ninth to lead Merrimack to its 20th win of the season. Cuming earned his fourth win of the year as the righty allowed only two hits and two strikeouts over four innings.
After four scoreless innings, Assumption broke the silence with six runs off six hits in the top of the fifth to take the lead over the Warriors. Shortly after, Merrimack came together as a team and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to bring the score to within four (6-2).
As Assumption went down in order in the sixth, Merrimack added another run to the board after a RBI ground out from sophomore Sean O'Neill (Norwood, Mass.) allowed DiSarcina to score. The Warriors continued to swing the bat and dominate on offense as the Navy and Gold tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the Greyhounds, 6-6.
In the bottom of the ninth, Merrimack recorded two quick outs before a single to right field by sophomore Mike Forgione (North Branford, Conn.) started the late rally. Following a single from sophomore Frank Crinella (Springfield, Mass.), Merrimack now had runners on second and third after a balk. With runners in scoring position, a single RBI to left field by DiSarcina plated the game-winning run as the Warriors ended the series with a 7-6 victory.
