COLCHESTER, VT. – Three different Merrimack players registered a hit, but the Merrimack College baseball team fell to Saint Michael's College, 2-1, in Northeast Division action Saturday afternoon at Doc Jacobs Field.

How It Happened
Sophomore Frank Crinella (Springfield, Mass.), freshman Cam DiSarcina (Shirley, Mass.) and sophomore Sean O'Neill (Norwood, Mass.) led the Warriors with a hit each while Crinella tallied the Warriors' only run of the game.
Junior Tim Cashman (Rowley, Mass.) picked up his third loss of the season as he allowed two runs off two hits. The junior tallied five strikeouts and two walks over eight innings of play.
Saint Michael's took control early in the game with a run in the bottom of the first. After two scoreless innings, Merrimack rallied back in the fourth to tie the game at one. With two outs, O'Neill connected for his only hit of the game advancing Crinella to third before a throwing error by the second basemen allowed Crinella to cross home.
In the top of the sixth, Merrimack threaten the hosts with runners on first and third, but solid defense from the Purple Knights ended the visitors' threat. After another scoreless inning by both teams, Saint Michael's regained the lead after an RBI single from the Purple Knights allowed the run to score.
The Warriors threatened Saint Michael's again in the ninth with a runner on second but the threat was ended after back-to-back groundouts to the shortstop and second basemen.
