NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Under seventh year head coach Joe Sarno, the Merrimack baseball Warriors will embark on the 2010 season starting in late February with a round-robin in New Jersey before heading to West Palm Beach for seven games in early March.

Coming off the program's first 20-win season (20-27, 11-19 NE-10) in coach Sarno's tenure, the Warriors welcome nine first-years to the diamond.  Seven seniors--including captains and Northeast-10 All-Conference selections Brendan Pyburn (Peabody, MA) and Ryan McNeil (Lynnfield, MA)--will provide veteran leadership to seven juniors and eight sophomores in addition to the nine newcomers.

Under coach Sarno and assistant coaches Reid Willett, Mike Coppinger and Joe Iarrobino, the Warriors will gear up for their 2010 Northeast-10 Conference schedule with 14 non-conference games before hosting 2009 Conference Tournament runner-up Assumption College on March 20th for a doubleheader.

To open the 2010 season, Merrimack will head to Flemington, New Jersey to square off with Mercy, Nyack and Pace on the weekend of February 27th.

On March 6, the team will head to West Palm Beach, Florida for the Palm Beach Challenge where they will face regional non-conference opponents such as Wilmington (DE), Concordia (NY), Bloomfield (NJ), Felician (NJ) and C.W. Post (NY).

Following a three-game stint at Philadelphia University on March 12-13, the Warriors begin their 26-game Conference schedule which wraps up with Pace on May 1st in Pleasantville, New York.

The Warriors will likely face their biggest test of the year when they face reigning Conference Champion Franklin Pierce University in a home and home match-up on March 6th and 8th.
