Tom Nyman was hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in December of 2010.

Nyman brings compliance experience at the Division I and II level to Merrimack.

Among his duties in that position, he was responsible reviewing practice reports, assisting with certifying eligibility for incoming and continuing student-athletes, assisting in the monitoring of the school’s 14 intercollegiate sport programs to ensure compliance with NCAA, MIAA and institutional policies and procedures regarding recurring playing seasons, benefits, rules interpretations, and monthly newsletters.  In addition, Nyman Chaired the Toys for Tots Committee, as well as created a student-athlete survey. 

Prior to joining Missouri Southern, Nyman spent the 2009-2010 academic year as an intern in the compliance department at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. 

Nyman earned a Master’s of Education degree in Sport Management in 2009 from the University of Minnesota after graduating from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 2003.      

He most recently served as the compliance department intern at Missouri Southern State University. He also oversaw the SAAC organization and the Toys for Tots Committee.
