Patrick Spiegel begins his second year at Merrimack, serving as Director of Marketing and Ticketing.
A Sudbury, Massachusetts native, Spiegel brings to Merrimack six years' worth of marketing and ticketing experience from the Major League Baseball ranks, most recently serving Group Sales Account Executive for the St. Louis Cardinals.
Under Spiegel's leadership, Merrimack led Hockey East in attendance by capacity at 96 percent, fueled by nine sellouts in 2013-14. Spiegel also oversaw successfull promotional events such as Scout Night, Women's Hockey Night and Youth Day for men's lacrosse.
Spiegel also serves as the Merrimack's administrative laison to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Hired by the Cardinals in June of 2011, Spiegel originally served as a Direct Sales Representative, where he was responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and new business relations through outbound phone calls, e-mail campaigns and face-to-face meetings. He successfully sold and serviced nearly 20,000 tickets and compiled over $1 million in revenue and was elected into the 2012 Cardinals Hall of Fame.
Those efforts led to his promotion to Group Sales Account Executive, where he promoted and executed the Amateur Game Program, which provided High School and College baseball teams the opportunity to play at Busch Stadium. Spiegel's other responsibilities for the Cardinals included developing ongoing relationships with group leaders while prospecting and cultivating new business.
Spiegel graduated from Miami University in May of 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Previous stops in his career included the Cape Cod Baseball League, FK Sports Management, Miami University Intercollegiate Athletics, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
