VOLPE ATHLETIC CENTER EXPANSION PROJECT
Merrimack College has partnered with Richard and Susanna Gallant and the Islanders Hockey Club to expand the Volpe Athletic Center by 83,000 square feet over the next year.
The expansion will result in a second full-sized ice rink, a 5,000 square foot Center for Sports Medicine, a 3,500 square-foot athletic training facility, additional locker rooms and offices, and a new state-of-the-art varsity weight room.
Additionally, Merrimack will add four luxury suites in Lawler Arena, a new lobby and ticket office, a Merrimack Hall of Fame display and additional concession facilities. The new Volpe Athletic Center will become the new home for the campus bookstore.
