The 2017 Merrimack College President's Cup Golf Tournament will be played on Monday, Aug. 14, at Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts.
The President's Cup Golf Tournament directly supports The Warrior Fund, which supports Merrimack's student-athletes -- which there are more than 600 in total -- and their efforts on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. The Warrior Fund provides essential financial support that enables our student-athletes to pursue excellence on and off the field.

Last August, more than 135 alumni, parents, friends, coaches and student-athletes joined the athletic department for a tremendous day to support The Warrior Fund. That support is now more critical than ever, as Merrimack College student-athletes have enjoyed arguably the athletic department's most successful era in school history over the last few years.
The 2016-2017 academic year was particularly memorable on a number of fronts. From a team success standpoint, five programs qualified for their respective NCAA Tournaments, which is the greatest single-season figure eight years. The Warriors amassed two conference titles, while the Class of 2017 graduated with nine All-Americans and after combining for NCAA Tournament appearances over the past four years. Merrimack has also been remarkably successful in the classroom with nine CoSIDA Academic All-District picks and three CoSIDA All-Americans.
Among the many team highlights over the course of the year:
- Men's lacrosse finishing as the national runner-up after advancing to the NCAA Championship Final for the first time in program history, which was played at Gillette Stadium
- The softball team winning 35 games en route to claiming its first Northeast-10 Conference regular season title in 15 years while qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011
- The men's basketball team blowing past preseason expectations on the way to its finest season in nearly seven years, as the team earned its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010
- The women's golf team claiming its third straight NE10 Championship in the fall
- The men's soccer earning its third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth in five years
- The men's tennis team qualifying for a school-record 10th straight NCAA Tournament
- Women's ice hockey qualifying for the postseason in just its second season as a varsity program
At the individual level, senior Carly Muscaro (Ashland, Mass.) wrapped up her storybook career as a six-time national champion, winning two titles at both the indoor and outdoor national championship meet to put a bow on what will go down as the most incredible four years by an individual student-athlete in Merrimack history.
In order to maintain and grow that success and positive momentum, we depend on the strong support of our alumni, parents, and friends to continue our progress and take Merrimack College Athletics to the next level. Whether you're a proud fan, former student-athlete or a parent of a current or former student-athlete, show your Warrior Pride by participating in this year's tournament.
As one of the most distinguished clubs in northern Massachusetts, Vesper highlights the natural beauty of the Merrimack Valley, and we hope you can join us for this special event.
