NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference announced its Spring 2014 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and over 220 Merrimack College student-athletes were among the conference’s list of top academic representatives who posted a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) in the spring semester, as announced by the league Wednesday.
Among an impressive group of nearly 3,200 student-athletes from among the conference’s 15 member institutions who posted 3.0 or better GPAs, Merrimack ranked fifth in the NE-10 with 221 total honorees, and also ranked eighth in percentage of honorees (58 percent), continuing the Athletic Department’s tradition of excellence both in the classroom and on the playing field.

Making the feat even more impressive was the fact that Merrimack shared the league lead with American International College in total number of student-athletes who boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester, as a league-high 15 Warriors earned straight A’s in the spring semester. They join 141 total student-athletes from across the conference who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester, up from 120 in the fall.
The Northeast-10 CHR program recognizes the conference’s student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. In order to be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale during the spring.

The Commissioner’s Honor Roll announcement comes on the heels of the 2013-14 Team Academic Awards, which the women’s basketball team won on Tuesday.
