Merrimack S.A.A.C. Completes Toys for Tots Drive, Donates Gifts to Lawrence B&G Club
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College Athletic Department, in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, successfully completed its 2013 Toys for Tots Drive this week.
Announced during Thanksgiving week, Merrimack’s Toys for Tots Drive aimed to compile new, unwrapped toys from fans, faculty, student-athletes and staff members as part of its mission toward enhancing the holiday experience of less fortunate children in the local community through a message of hope that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens.
Merrimack compiled five full plastic tubs of unwrapped, new toys, board games, stuffed animals and much more. All were donated to the nearby Lawrence Boys & Girls Club, where they will be distributed amongst the children there.
“On behalf of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the E-Board and all of the student-athletes at Merrimack who made this possible, I just want to say we could not be more proud of our efforts this holiday season with Toys for Tots and our ongoing relationship with the Lawrence Boys & Girls Club”, Director of Strength and Conditioning and S.A.A.C. Advisor Mike Kamal said. “Having the opportunity to enrich the lives of children less fortunate is the reward that we strive for each holiday season, and our efforts truly embody what being a part of this College and this Athletic Department is about.”
